Hi, my name is Lauren! I am a runner, an RRCA certified running coach, blogger, wife, new mom, dog mom, and mental health advocate living in Pittsburgh, PA. Running for Wellness was created to help others lead a healthier life through running.
Running is one of my favorite self-care habits to take care of my own mental and physical health, and I love to help others begin their running journeys, but it hasn’t always been this way! In my early years, I hated running and struggled with it! As an effort to “get in shape” for my wedding in 2014, I decided to sign up for a 5k to try something new. This was very tough for me, and my only goal was to finish it. As soon as I completed the race, I knew that I was hooked! I can’t even describe the amazing feeling of crossing the finish line of a race for the first time. Since then, I have completed 2 marathons, 5 half marathons, 1 sprint triathlon, and countless 5ks, 10ks, and relays.
My Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is that running can and should add to your overall health and wellbeing. I use scientific methods mixed with customizing plans to fit your personal life situation and goals. My run coaching services and training plans are created for real people with real lives who want to add running as a way to stay healthy and achieve their goals. I use positive reinforcement to help my clients improve and have fun along the way!
The purpose of this blog is to speak out about mental health, help new runners with tips, personal running stories, and more! I also offer 1:1 run coaching services, and create customized training plans.
I created a free guide about how to make running more fun. You can download it for free by clicking here: Download the FREE Ultimate Guide to Making Running more Fun!
